I love how honest Jada Pinkett Smith is!! This interview with Jay Shetty is so good. It's amazing to see how well she understands herself and why she is the way she is based on her past. I think there's so much we can learn from this simple conversation. Often times we don't look at ourselves in an analytical way. We just go through life doing what we do. Things may come up that are problematic, and we work on them, but how often do we actually get down to the root of that particular issue? We are always evolving, and we have all been influenced by the environment we had no choice to grow up in. I think that taking a deeper look into why we are the way we are, and accepting that we may not actually be a certain way. We may be imitating what we became a witness too. This is the time to unpack our baggage, so we can come out of this unprecedented time a better version of ourselves!
There's so much to gain from Tyler Perry's story! What I take away most, is his belief in his dream. He took his savings from tax returns and invested it into himself! It's tax season, and this is the time when people may splurge on unnecessary material things. Take notes from Mr. Perry and invest in yourself. It will pay off with persistence! This 3-time Grammy award winning Singer - Singwriter, made a name for himself with hits like “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Lean On Me.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the year 2015.
Since it is Black History Month, I'm educating myself more on impactful African Americans. I started my week off by watching a great documentary on John Coltrane on Netflix called Chasing Trane. He accomplished so much in his forty short years of life. He created a whole new sound in the Jazz genre, and was a part of great bands like the Miles Davis Quintet. He later formed his own band, and became known as an exceptional saxophonist and composer.
