When I got signed, I think Ib and Cole were just playing it for Cozz, and Cozz was like, “I hear something to it.” And he wrote a verse to it and took it to the next level. He killed it. I felt it was crazy because his words to me, matched my relationship, it felt like. It was crazy how in sync it was.
Collaboration is key. You can only do but so much by yourself. Ari Lennox's story to success is amazing! She started off doing covers on social media, and was discovered by an artist signed to Dremaville, which is J Coles lable.
I love Nick Cannon's Cannon Classes! They're so informative, and no one is really doing this on his level. This class in particular was super insightful! They discussed reparations for blacks today, the similarities of slavery and the penitentiary, and so much more! Educate yourself! A good watch! Dr. Natalie S Robertson also wrote a book, which sounds like a good read! Knowledge is power!
I've been a huge fan of H.E.R. ever since I heard H.E.R. Volume 1 and 2. The music was beautiful, relatable, and I loved the range of her voice. I had the pleasure of seeing her live at the One Music Fest this past Fall, and I was blown away! She played a few instruments, including the guitar and the drums, which was super dope. I'm so happy to see she won a grammy for Best R&B Album!
Most of these faces look familiar, but there were a few I didn't recognize. It's great to learn about what Black leaders are doing today to make positive change in this world! Thanks Revolt!
My life is a song still being written...watch my lyrics evolve.
